The Oscars, My Thoughts, and What I’d Wear

Published by rhondas at 5:47 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

I feel as if I missed something by not having seen Slum Dog Millionaire. It is shown at our local theaters, but only for the VIP section. I have found it at a theater kind of out of town, but I might go and see it. I do kind of like Mickey Rourke, and am glad to see him back. I used to like Angelina Jolie, and still do, but I’m tired of the hype surrounding them. There are more people around besides them.

The Oscars tend to be huge, bigger than the Grammies, which, in essence, were lame this year. I don’t usually watch the Oscars. I’ve not seen many movies this past 8 months, cause of my dad, and my travel schedule.

I am familiar with the movie MILK, but have not seen the novel it it based on. I was hoping Mickey Rourke would win for best actor, but it is very fair how that award had a twist to it. The book based on Benjamin Buttons, is by F. Scott Fitzgerald. It is part of a series of short stores. I wasn’t interested in the whole novel, and was pleased when I could get the one story for 99 Cents on Amazon for Kindle. I happened to see it the other day in Barnes and Noble, and was struck with how thin the story is. I did not open the book. I think I was surprised by it’s small size. How could they make an entire movie from that little of book?

I had forgotten about those who have left us in 2008, from Bernie Mac, to Paul Newman, and the Oscars made a very nice memorial to them all.

The dress I liked the best, was possibly Milley Ray Cyrus. It was dashing, gorgeous and eye catching. She looked great in it. As for other dresses, the grey dress, with the pleats, by Versace was eye catching. I’m not sure I like the dresses that look like wedding gowns, with the full net skirts. Also, one strap dresses, Michelle Obama looked terrific in them, but some people don’t. As for dresses without straps? I am afraid I’d not be able to keep it up. I like sleeves, if I was there, I’d want sleeves. If not sleeves, then a jacket. (I’m from Kansas City, and it’s cold now).

If I were at the Oscars, (ha), I’d want a pale pink dress, with chiffon. This one isn’t so bad. My hair would be not extravagant, about like I wear it now, and my make up flashy, with large lashes. I would carry a small pink handbag, and wear French heel pink shoes.Spanx, Spanx Spanx, to hide everything. Bracelets to match, earrings large hoops.

I’m not one to be awe, and wow, about people. Sometimes authors and musicians carry more excitement for me. But, inside my little pink Oscar night bag, I’d certainly have a small moleskin journal, and a pin for autographs. (I do that, anyway).

If I were to choose a party to attend after the Oscars, I think it’d be the one that either, 1. is playing rock type metal music, or 2: the one that Oprah went to. To be utterly bored is not an idea of fun, but if there is loud music, I’d not be bored.

Those are my ideas of the Oscars, and a few thoughts I had as well….What would you wear to the Oscars? Take a bit and think and imagine. Live a little.
