Ladies! Extend Those Lashes!

Published by rhondas at 11:17 am under Uncategorized Edit This

When I misplaced my false eyelashes yesterday (in the process of applying my make-up to go out with my son and eat on my birthday), and began to be fixated on mascaras. Can mascara do what false eye lashes do? Probably not as well. Also, there’s some negative effects from false eyelashes:

1.) The glue can irritate eyes.
2.) I have trouble removing the false eyelashes. Seems they don’t remove easily.
3.) If you get them on less than straight, you can see them all day long. plus, they look funny.

I’ve tried applying 4-5 layers of mascara, but it gums up, creating a less than flattering look. I’m not sure that there is an actual mascara that does what false eyelashes do. But, there is a way of applying mascara, to where it is a bit longer on the lash tips.

Make sure you have have a good eyelash curler. (I’m wanting to try the heated eyelash curler, but I’ve not done that yet.) You can use your blow dryer on the eyelash curler, to more or less get it heated, and it has the same effect. But, you should do this quickly, because it looses heat, there by decreasing effectiveness.
Carefully curl the lashes, only the top. A good eye lash curler should last you a while, and if buying an eyelash curler, certainly by the best one you can. Cheap eye lash curlers can pinch your lids. Mine is plastic, by Tweezerman. An eye make-up remover helps when you want to remove your mascara.
When you purchase a mascara, be sure it’s lengthening. Waterproof is always welcome. You don’t need 2 different mascaras, you need one good mascara. Good mascara can cost anywhere from $12.00 on up to $22.00. and up. I am not a Maybeline fan, but it is very popular. The reason I am suggesting mascara from a make-up counter, such as Nordstrom’s or Dillard’s, is because most mascaras purchased from the make-up counters in department stores, do not clump. I have found cheaper mascara to clump, but Rimmel’s brand from Wal-mart, it being one of the cheapest brand on the planet, does pretty good. But, it does not perform as a higher priced mascara, and I’m not going to write that it does. It needs 4 coats to do what a good mascara does in 2-3 coats, and, the brush is flimsy. The brush feels like it will break when I pull it out of the mascara.
Mascaras with fibers in them, conform to your lashes, and have a molecule that attracts to the tip of the lash, and lengthens your lash.
After curling your lashes with the “heated” curler, apply one coat, lightly to the bottom, and one coat to the top. When applying the coat to the top lashes, kind of smooth out your lashes, and separate your lashes. Let it dry. It might take a minute or two, but if you don’t let it dry, this is when clumping occurs. Then do the same again. Let it dry, and I often repeat it. Make sure with each coat, that you separate the lashes. With a good mascara, this can almost look like false eyelashes.

I like my eyelashes so much, that if I knew the cost of this, I’d do it in a minute. The fact is, if I had the money, I’d probably do this: Latisse. But I doubt that United Health Insurance would pay for any of it.
